Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

What is the game of Nim?
A very old thinking game: two players take turns removing or placing objects according to a simple rule, and the final position decides the winner. Behind the simplicity lies a real strategy, studied by mathematicians.
What is the difference between nim31 and nim51?
nim31 is played on 31 counters, with moves of 3, 4 or 5 counters. nim51 is played on 51 counters, with moves of 3 to 7: the strategy that wins at 31 no longer works, and in campaign mode the computer starts.
Can I try it for free?
Yes, nim31 can be played for free in your browser at nim31.pages.dev, with nothing to install. The PC version adds the Windows app, with no ads, and the nim51 variant.
Are there ads or in-game purchases?
No. The PC version is bought once, with no ads, no subscription and no in-game purchases.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes. At checkout, choose the gift option and enter the person's email address: they receive the game directly.
Windows shows a warning at first launch, is that normal?
Yes. The game comes from an independent developer and Windows flags it as a precaution. Click “More info” then “Run anyway”.
Is the game available in English?
The game's interface is in French, as the screenshots on this page show. This page is in English so you can decide before buying.
